Book your next corporate client entertainment night at Barista Basics.
Held in our specially created café training room, the aim of these nights is to teach you and your clients all about how to make great coffee in a practical down-to-earth manner. You will use our commercial and domestic machines for the full experience.
Our expert baristas and authors of the book" bean there, drunk that…", Matthew Gee and David Gee, do all the teaching. Coming from corporate backgrounds themselves, they know what you are looking for when it comes to helping you build your corporate relationships in a fun and informative environment.
Every participant receives a course certificate and our video, The Coffee Menu. We are happy to put your corporate logo on the certificate.

What you will learn:
- how coffee came to be the second most traded commodity on earth (it's funny that most baristas don't even know this fact - nor do they know coffee has been heavily traded for centuries now!)
- how coffee is grown and harvested (you need to know this if you are going to try and discover the many tastes and aromas of coffee from different origins)
- how coffee is blended and roasted (we have always said "in the end… it's all in the blend" and we hope you agree after looking at the evidence we present)
- how to set-up a grinder and espresso machine (OK … it's not rocket science … and we only teach you what you really have to know … but you do really have to know this!)
- how to pour the perfect espresso shot (under-extracted and it's too weak … over-extracted and it's too bitter - we tell you how to make it perfect)
- the art of frothing creamy, textured milk (we don't want roadhouse froth and we show you how to avoid making it!)
- how to pour all the drinks in a café menu with style (you think you can pour a cappuccino - but can you pour a vienna, long macchiato and a doppio? - we show you how)
- how to clean your equipment to maintain the taste of your coffee (if this is not done you might as well not even grind the beans - not cleaning is a disaster)
- how everything a barista knows can be applied to the home espresso machine (we tell you what you know to get the best from your home espresso machines)
- how to free-pour coffees and create pictures on lattes (these designs will blow you away)
